It was great to see some new doors being opened this week for past participants of our Young Citizens program.

Nicolas Cain (2013) was invited to the Canadian Museums Association (CMA) conference in Toronto this week. This year’s theme was “Intention, Innovation & Invention...The Future of Museums” and explored topics like engagement, technology, and community partnerships. Nicolas was given the honour of introducing Wednesday’s keynote, Stephen Lewis and by accounts on social media, he did a great job!

The CMA conference is Canada’s largest gathering of museum professionals and always features an impressive list of delegates. Congratulations Nicolas on this wonderful opportunity and our thanks to the CMA for including him in their conference. You can catch some highlights on Twitter by following #cmamc2014.

Victoria Jackman (2012) was one of this year’s recipients of the Vimy Pilgrimage Award, offered by the Vimy Foundation. The award recognizes exceptional youth who have made a difference in their community. The winners are currently on a weeklong battlefield tour in Europe, sponsored by EF Tours. I'm sure it will be a life-changing experience for all the participants. Congratulations Victoria on this achievement!
