Our “Fall Colours,” 5 day/4 night guided tour again, on the first day, features daylight train travel from Toronto to Sudbury, Ontario on VIA Rail’s domed car train The Canadian to enjoy the scenery through the Muskoka region.

Roundtrip from Toronto, this package also features all daylight travel with all 4 nights hotel stays, 2 full travel days on VIA Rail’s Sudbury to White River remote rail service or Rail Diesel Car (like a large bus on the rails and the last of its kind in Ontario!) to enjoy pristine Canadian Shield fall scenery.

Package also includes a day tour of Sudbury with visits to Dynamic Earth (for presentations about the heritage and topography of the region), Northern Ontario Railway Museum, plus a visit to the White River Museum and learn about their now famous bear cub (named “Winnie”) that came from here.

The final day will be travelling from Sudbury back to Toronto by motor coach so we can stop and tour the former CPR steamship the SS Keewatin in Port McNicoll. Package also includes most meals and additional heritage presentations, tour director, detailed tour info kit and more.

Amazing Belugas & Heritage of Churchill

Travel to the shores of Hudson Bay to experience Manitoba’s wildlife and heritage.

This 7-day, 6-night roundtrip tour from Winnipeg to Churchill features train travel in sleeping car accommodations, with on-board meals prepared by VIA Rail’s chefs and served in the comfortable dining car, whose expansive windows provide views of the passing prairies, Canadian Shield, Taiga and Arctic landscapes. Enjoy a 3-day, 2-night hotel stay in Churchill featuring a boat tour to see the belugas of the Churchill River and the historic HBC Fort Prince of Wales. The package also includes: station to hotel transfers; a tour of the town including the Cape Merry National Historic Site; and a guided half-day historical and ecological tour along the shoreline of Hudson Bay. Additional visits to heritage attractions include the Itsanitaq Museum, Parks Canada Northern Manitoba Interpretive Centre (located in the restored Churchill train station), and exclusive heritage presentations.

Hudson Bay Buggies & Bears

Northern Ontario Winter Rails

Friday February 16 to Monday February 19, 2024*

Roundtrip from Sudbury, this 4-day, 3-night package features scenery from the route of Canada’s last Rail Diesel Car service, overnight hotel stays and more, where we have prepared everything for our guests to enjoy a uniquely Canadian winter journey. The package begins in Sudbury as you check in at our partner hotel and enjoy a welcome dinner and evening event to meet your guide, other guests, and overnight here. The highlight will be the round-trip journey on VIA Rail’s Sudbury to White River remote service, which a former guest described as “winter postcard views around every curve of the tracks,” and the isolated communities it serves. Enjoy a planned visit to the White River Museum, group dinner and overnight stay here, before another day on the train and a stay in our Sudbury hotel for the last night. The package includes a 2-night stay in Sudbury and one night in White River, round-trip rail journey, presentations on the train and at the hotels, most meals and great memories.
